Penny Hood is the Executive Leader, Children and Families. Penny joined Barnardos Australia in 2018 after an extensive career in the Department of Family and Community Services NSW. She is well regarded for her strong leadership skills which saw her lead various units within the Department including Director of the Office of the CEO, Director of Innovation, Co-design and Implementation, as well as, Director Permanency Support Program Implementation.

Her in-depth knowledge of the sector and passion for children’s social care has been of great benefit to Barnardos. Penny has been instrumental in guiding Barnardos through growth over the past three years. In her new role as Executive Leader, Children and Families, she is responsible for all Barnardos front line services. As an innovator and change maker, Penny leads Barnardos team of practitioners through the ever-shifting landscape of child protection as they strive to take our organisation to the next level under Barnardos Towards 2025 strategy.

Qualifications: BA Arts, BA Law, M Policy Studies, Specialist Certificate Implementation Science
