Auburn Christmas Fair

The team at our Auburn Centre welcomed over one hundred children and parents to the Auburn Christmas Fair last week. Activities included children’s entertainment, games, dancing, a candy floss machine, and a special visit from Santa himself!

We’d like to extend a special thanks to Genevie Pham from Genesa, who led a group of volunteers and donors from Advanced Lending and Co, Global RE and An Viet Group. The group provided and wrapped Christmas gifts for all the children at the event, as well as those who were unable to attend. They also delivered and served delicious halal Vietnamese food and barbecued sausages for the children, parents, and staff.

Genevie and her associates connected with several of our Program Managers at the event and learnt about the support services that Barnardos Centres provide to local communities, which reinforced their pledge of support in the new year. We look forward to growing our partnership with the group and are excited about what we can achieve through this collaboration next year!

WHAT WE SEE

We see beyond the sleepover in cars and understand the underlying issues.

After escaping family violence, a parent and their child have nowhere safe to stay and are
currently waiting for refuge accommodation.
