The Shellharbour Communities for Children, Temporary Family Care & Out Of Home Care teams kicked off the summer season at the Shellharbour Summer Fair last week. This inclusive community event brought the whole community together to celebrate International Day for People with Disability.
International Day of People with Disability is a United Nations observed day held on 3 December each year. It aims to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions.
The Shellharbour Summer fair free community event focused on uplifting and empowering young people of all abilities.
We had visits from local service providers, market stalls, entertainment, family-friendly games, our amazing Barnardos Tattoo spay booth and a free BBQ lunch.
Some of us were braver than others, getting a reptile up close experience!
