The Tides Project
Young voices. Stories worth hearing.
Stronger communities.
We’ve got stories to tell
TIDES is a filmmaking project created by young people from Warrawong.
We work with our families, Elders and community to make films about where people come from, what they’ve been through and what connects us.
Because around here, there are stories from all over the world.
And we think they’re worth hearing.

Nhandi
The TIDES Project, in partnership with the Lake Illawarra Coastal Management Program, presents Nhandi — a poetic short film told through story, language and place. Inspired by oral history and written sources, Nhandi imagines the first encounters between Aboriginal people of the Illawarra coast and the newcomers who arrived by sea.

More resources will be added as new films are released throughout the project.
New short films are currently in production and will be released between 2026 and 2028. Sneak peeks, trailers and upcoming releases will also be shared here as they become available.
