Head Office Children’s Day 2023

Barnardos Head Office (HO) was filled with bright smiles, excited chatter and toothless grins as HO employees came to work with their little ones in tow to celebrate Children’s Day.

For the first time, HO employees were invited to bring the special children in their lives along to work, giving the kids an opportunity to see their workspaces and meet their colleagues.

After an office tour and ‘meet and greet’, the children and employees boarded a bus to the Barnardos Yurungai Learning Centre in Waterloo to enjoy making cultural crafts, story time, singing, dancing and didgeridoo playing.

The visit ended on a high note with everyone enjoying a yummy lunch before heading home.

A HUGE thank you to Viv Freeman and her fabulous team for taking the time to spend the day with Head Office employees and for sharing their stories and creating such fun activities.

Because Barnardos is all about children and strengthening connections, this was a perfect event to start the new year right!

WHAT WE SEE

We see beyond the sleepover in cars and understand the underlying issues.

After escaping family violence, a parent and their child have nowhere safe to stay and are
currently waiting for refuge accommodation.
