Delfino Di Mascio is a Sydney based vascular surgeon who is deeply committed to raising funds and awareness about the devastating and ongoing effects of child abuse and neglect.

His dedication has led him to create the Summit for Children campaign. His mission is to scale mountains the world over to raise funds for Barnardos Australia as well as raise community and government awareness of this ever-present issue.

Delfino is excited to announce that his first climb for the Summit for Children campaign will be Aconcagua.  Aconcagua reigns as the highest mountain outside of the Himalaya. Standing at 6961 m tall (22,837 ft.), this is one of the great Seven Summits of the world, located in the Andes mountain range of Argentina. At this altitude, the cruising altitude of small airplanes, the weather is said to change rapidly and dramatically. Departing on the 28th of December 2015 this 23 day climb will be both mentally and physically challenging.
