Philanthropic giving

Together we can have a profound impact on Australian children's lives.

Your gift can transform the lives of vulnerable children

In the last year, Barnardos improved the lives of 27,829 of Australia’s most vulnerable children and young people. Sadly, there are still so many who need our help. By supporting Barnardos you can enable us to intervene early, to strengthen families and protect Australia’s most vulnerable children.

Philanthropic gifts allow us to be innovative, to plan for the long term and to respond quickly to the urgent needs of families and children who have no one else to turn to.

The difference you can make

Philanthropic gifts allow us to reach more children, young people and families, like Sanita, through our life-changing programs.

Barnardos’ Learning Centres and Homework Clubs provide before and after school programs for children aged 5-12, many of whom are First Nations Australians, who have been exposed to violence or family breakdown. This targeted approach allows us to work with children to break the cycle of disadvantage and help them engage with their education.

A donation to Barnardos enables our dedicated case-workers to be out on the streets at 2am in the most disadvantaged areas, where many welfare services have not been able to meet the needs of young people.

Youth at risk

Your donation will give families and their children a second chance in life. People like Tegan who narrowly escaped death at the hands of her partner. We believe that everybody deserves that second chance of a better, happier, safer life.

WHAT WE SEE

We see beyond the sleepover in cars and understand the underlying issues.

After escaping family violence, a parent and their child have nowhere safe to stay and are
currently waiting for refuge accommodation.
