Driving connection: AMF-CUFA supports children and families across NSW

Long-time champions for children, AMF-Cufa, have extended their generosity to children and young people across NSW, renewing their partnership with Barnardos Australia (Barnardos), as well donating a new bus to facilitate transport to Barnardos programs.

Representatives of AMF-CUFA joined Barnardos team members and families at the Sydney Metro Child and Family Hub in Marrickville on Wednesday 22 July 2026 to celebrate their enduring partnership and launch the new bus.

AMF-CUFA has partnered with Barnardos since 2017 to keep children and young people safe and supported through targeting youth homelessness prevention, education and social support for primary schoolers. They have also supported mothers released from the criminal justice system to reconnect with their children and rebuild their families.

‘Across the last nine years, there are thousands of children, young people and families who are connected to family and thriving in their communities thanks to this partnership. What’s most satisfying, beyond the strong outcomes, is the shared values and commitment that AMF-CUFA bring to this partnership,’ said Barnardos CEO Dr Kate Alexander.

‘As we know from our international work, effective community development meets people where they are. This reflects the Barnardos approach in Australia: a Food Hub that says you matter; a BBQ schedule that says we’ll be here next week; bus transport that says we come to you; and a program that helps incarcerated mums get back to their children,’ said Darian Clark, AMF-Cufa CEO.

AMF-Cufa will build on their legacy for children and families in the 2027 financial year through supporting three vital community programs in Sydney, Central West NSW and the Illawarra region:

– In Warrawong’s Bundaleer Housing Estate, children and families will continue to have access to after-school and breakfast programs that support education, nutrition and child safety — building on over two decades of trusted community relationships.

– In South-Western Sydney, Sydney Youth Services will continue to draw on 30+ years experience to support young people experiencing homelessness, domestic violence and substance abuse, helping them build life skills and confidence on their path to independence.

– In Wellington, Central West NSW, Barnardos Yalmambirra Learning Centre will provide safe transport for children to access to homework support, cultural learning and holiday activities that school attendance and educational outcomes.

We are incredibly grateful to AMF-Cufa whose partnership demonstrates the transformative role businesses can play in supporting children and strengthening communities. Our partnership is truly creating lasting change in lives of children and young people, leading to more hopeful futures.
