Generosity, and collaboration

It's what makes our corporate partnerships special and life-changing.

Corporate partnerships in action

For more than 15 years, Australian fashion label sass & bide has proudly supported the life-changing work of Barnardos Australia. To help raise funds to support our work with vulnerable children and families, each year sass & bide produces limited-edition clothing with 100% of profits donated directly to Barnardos.

In 2023, sass & bide released the ‘Kind Hearts’ sweater, which was a special collaboration with the children of the Barnardos Yurungai Learning Centre. The sweaters offered both adult and children’s sizes, with 100% of the profits from the sales going directly to Barnardos Australia. During a day of play and creativity, each Yurungai student drew their own heart designs to be placed on the sleeves of the sweater. The launch campaign featured our very own Yurungai children and staff proudly wearing the sass & bide ‘Kind Hearts’ sweater, along with top celebrities such as comedian Celeste Barber!

HSBC have partnered with Barnardos since 2002, generously giving financially and through staff volunteering and other engagement activities.

Currently, HSBC align their support with Barnardos Yurungai Learning Centre in Waterloo, which delivers a range of after-school services to predominantly Aboriginal children from the local area, providing a safe and nurturing environment for the students and playing a crucial role in the community.

While contributing financially, just as importantly HSBC staff regularly visit the Centre to volunteer their time and skills – helping the children with their homework and taking part in the array of activities offered at Yurungai.

Each year HSBC also host a fantastic Christmas feast at the company’s offices at Barangaroo for Yurungai’s children and their families, and offer a range of other exciting opportunities to the kids, like tickets to the HSBC Sydney Sevens.

The Australian Mutuals Foundation (AMF) was established to be a charitable vehicle for Mutual Banks, Credit Unions, Building Societies and Cooperatives, and have supported Barnardos since 2017.

Its main purpose is to assist children in need. In order to do so, AMF contributes financially to our Reconnect Marrickville program, the Yurungai Learning Centre and our Centre in Auburn – impacting young people from a range of diverse backgrounds.

Staff from across AMF’s member organisations are also heavily engaged and involved in bringing the partnership to life, taking part in numerous volunteering activities and hosting events – from taking kids from Barnardos’ programs on fun days out to the Powerhouse Museum, to buddying up with our kids from Auburn to take them to the Rosehill Gardens Christmas Party, to hosting networking events to drive engagement through the partnership.

Barnardos’ partnership with AMF continues to grow and evolve, and we are looking forward to another exciting year ahead.
