After 10 years of dedicated and inspiring leadership, Deirdre Cheers will step down as CEO of Barnardos Australia at the end of 2025. Deirdre’s unwavering commitment to child-centred practice, advocacy and systemic change has left an enduring legacy – one that has strengthened our services, expanded our impact, and amplified the voices of vulnerable children and families across Australia.
As we look to the future, the Board of Barnardos Australia has commenced the search for our next Chief Executive Officer – a visionary leader who will carry forward our mission to protect children and support families in crisis.
