I had a really good start in life
I do what I do because that’s
what every child deserves.
My name’s Anna and I’m a social worker with Barnados. The reason that I do the work that I do, is because I think that it’s everyone’s job to try and make a difference in the world. And to improve the lives of others and particularly improve the lives of children.
I think it’s important that issues like this do continue to shock us. So that we keep remembering how important it is to help others and particularly to help children. Every family who has a bad story, who has had impacts of trauma or has had bad things happen – that they get the same emotional response – which is what it should be. We should be… devastated that that has happened to any child.
I think that I’m really lucky that I get to wake up every day and know that I can walk beside some families for a short period – and hopefully make a big difference in the life of a child.
