The Barnardos Orange Centre opened in January 2011 with an Intensive Family Preservation Service (IFPS) Program and has been supporting local families since then.
Orange Children's Family Centre began out of home care (OOHC) services on 1 October 2012 and has offices in Orange and Cowra. The Centre offers a full range of out of home care services including crisis/short term care, general foster care, kinship care and adoption (non-aboriginal children).
The Orange Centre covers a large geographic area including Orange, Bathurst and Cowra and the neighbouring areas of Cabonne and Blayney.
Orange accepts referrals for children aged 0-12 years into Barnardos' OOHC services. The crisis/short term program focuses on working to restore children to their birth families wherever possible, while also planning for best outcomes in kinship care or foster care.
