Barnardos offers long-term care and adoption thorough our Find-a-Family program.
Barnardos' Find-a-Family Offices are located in Sydney, Canberra, and the Hunter/Central Coast and South Coast of NSW.
Find-a-Family covers the Sydney metropolitan area, Illawarra and Shoalhaven, and Hunter and Central Coast areas. There are Centres in the inner west of Sydney, and offices in Gosford on the Central Coast, St Marys in Sydney’s West, and Hamilton in Newcastle. Shellharbour in the Illawarra. A program in Canberra is managed by the Canberra Children’s Family Centre.

Short term care

This Centre was set up in Wyong on the Central Coast in February 2013 to deliver kinship and crisis care services.
Programs include kinship and crisis and short term OOHC.

The Central Western NSW centre opened in October 2012 with offices in Orange and Cowra. The centre offers a full range of out-of-home care (OOHC) services, including crisis/short term care, general foster care, kinship care and adoption.
It covers a geographic area from Orange to Cowra including neighbouring areas, Cabonne, Blayney.
Referrals are accepted for children 0 - 12 years into OOHC services. The crisis/short term program focus is on restoring children to their birth families wherever possible while also planning for the best outcomes in kin care or foster care.
