A MUSIC event at Dubbo presented by young people attracted a capacity crowd on Saturday night.
Neon Party brought together100guestsagedunder 18 years at the Wingewarra ActivityCentre. Theretheyweregreetedby the Galaxy Girls, curators of thenight’sentertainment. The group of Wellington girls came together through the Barnados Reconnect programwithmentoringand technical guidance from SignalCreative. This year Signal Creative received a $2500 Indent
Youth Music Event Development Grant to continue fostering local female talent bystagingtheNeonParty. SignalCreativeco-director Emma Hoy said the event hadbeenfantastic.
“We were at capacity,” she said. “We had 100 young people attend from Mudgee, Wellington and Dubbo.” Live performers including Heidi Maree and Gabrielle Flanagan had been really well-received, Ms Hoy said. “Loads of kids were asking when the next one is,” Ms Hoy said.
