Yoga Aid will next be held in 2014.

Can we beat the $100,000 raised for Barnardos Australia in 2012?

Yoga Aid is an inspiring event - two hours of free yoga led by premier yoga teachers at spectacular venues across Australia, all in an effort to promote the joy of yoga and raise funds for charity.

Barnardos Australia is a major chairty benefitting from this wonderful event. Hundreds of yoga-loving supporters and Barnardos staff participate in the event, raising funds and promoting the work we do to stop child abuse in Australia.

At the most recent Yoga Aid in 2012  yogis around the world united in one single expression of intention. The "Yoga Relay" began in Sydney, travel around the globe through 20+ countries at more than 200 events, ending at sundown in Los Angeles. The goal was to raise more than $1 million dollars for charities around the world. And we achieved it!

It’s free to join in the fun. Why? Because Yoga Aid believes that if they don’t charge you to participate, then the fundraising dollar can go further for the event charity partners. Regardless of where you live or your level of yoga, there will probably be a Yoga Aid event near you. Gather your family and friends and get to the Yoga Aid event nearest to you.

“All levels of experience are welcome to join in," says Manisha Amin, Barnardos' director of fundraising and marketing. "The various yoga teachers put you through your paces. If you’re really fit they say it can be as gruelling as running the half marathon!”

We would like to thank Yoga Aid for again choosing Barnardos Australia as a beneficiary of this unique even. We encourage everyone to get out and enjoy one of the days and use the power of yoga to create a positive change and help give some of Australia’s most disadvantaged children a brighter future.
