Partnerships with Community Groups and Other Organisations
Barnardos has forged beneficial partnerships with organisations such as community and financial groups, unions and other bodies which have provided significant support for many of Barnardos initiatives.
New grant program announced that will improve participation in education for disadvantaged kids around Australia.
Barnardos is pleased to announce an exciting new grant program called Max e Grants to help disadvantaged kids right around the country get a better education.
The program is open to schools, kindergartens and community groups that are working with disadvantaged children who are struggling to fully participate in the education system. The grants can assist individual children with basic yet important needs such as school books, tutoring, uniforms and equipment.
This program has been made possible because of the very generous support of OfficeMax, one of Australia’s leading education material providers. Along with their key suppliers Artline, BIC, Duracell, Pritt and Tork, OfficeMax has pledged a minimum of $125,000 toward the program.
Everyday Barnardos sees many children struggling to cope with a life that is consumed by fear of abuse, neglect homelessness, poverty and ultimately failure. Whilst we can give them food, shelter and even a safe and loving family, the most important and lasting thing we can offer them is a sound education. The knowledge and skills they acquire now are the real building blocks of independence and success.
Just like Barnardos, OfficeMax takes it role in the community seriously and know that if they are to make a real difference then they have to do something that will create lasting change. This partnership does just that and through the max e grant program we can reach out to schools and children throughout Australia and give kids in need a better chance in life through better participation in the education system.
